Colt’s *Day by Day*
Ah Sunday’s were designed to allow humans to sleep in, relax, and just be with the one you love. So we do, and we do, and we enjoy. Soon though the day must begin.
The morning finds both of us awake, my love is massaging my shoulders while I stretch and push backwards into his body. But the needs of the body overcome what we are enjoying, we rise from bed and begin the morning ritual. With the cleanup and shower complete we dress in morning casual and find comfortable places to sit on the sofa. I pour two glasses of cranberry juice and fix a bite of toast with butter and cheese using the cake plate for service. Gunny laid out a couple napkins and a table linen and we sit at the pub table listening to the noon news and enjoy a small nibble and drink.
Afternoon had arrived and we were still cuddled up on the sofa. The weather is a bit stormy today, just rain and wind thankfully. No lightning or thunder so no pillows are necessary. The drink has changed to a tall glass of sweet tea we share and discuss dinner plans. I had thought of going to have Chinese tonight, but my love is not quite sure. So we watch another british comedy and try to decide on dinner. It seems that mentioning Chinese has had an influence on gunny and he says a bite of sushi would be fine. So when the show finishes we switch off the laptop and move towards our bedroom to dress. I undress, slip on my robe and walk to the wash room to check my face and hair in the mirror. When I arrive back in our bedroom my love has attempted to coordinate an outfit, he’s done actually pretty good. The only thing I switch out are the two shirts for us. I prefer a darker color today and his should reflect the same. I browse my shoes and decide on a pair of mid-heels while gunny searches for the umbrella. He slips on his shoes and steps out side to unlock the car. He waits for me at the door, he looks so handsome there. I see him waiting patiently watching me walk towards him. He has the umbrella out over the doorway and we walk to the car.
Late Afternoon at the restaurant on a Sunday, the screaming children are gone thankfully along with most of the “holier than thou” crowd. Speaking of that type of people, I find it quite interesting how they have a committed interest in the sexual habits of others, when all they need to do is look into their own group and find people out in west texas who’s habits have cause the state to step in and take over three hundred children out of a community. I look at this wondering how a small city could have all of its children removed. Something pretty bizarre must be happening there. So with this thought in my head we start our dinner. Its actually a buffet, but its quite good. Gunny is dining on grilled chicken and beef while also having a side dish of assorted sushi items. I am enjoying a bit of noodles, rice and a teriyaki chicken plate. The receptionist was quite sweet to us, gunny gave the usual response to her question of smoking or non-smoking, gunny said, “non-screaming child section please”. No matter how many times I hear this, I still get a little giggle. The waitress comes by again with refills for our drinks. Gunny is munching away at the sushi, I’m enjoying the noodles, we really like the buffet here. The check comes and we are nearly stuffed full.
Late evening finds us both feeling the completely full bellies from dinner. I pour us a small glass of wine to help with digestion and to relax. I chat online while we watch a few shows. We have a series of West Wing to watch as well. I think we may save this for Monday. With the day nearly completed we decide to make an early night of it. Cinco de Mayo is Monday and a wonderful party downtown with it.
